Ministry of Transportation Spurs Logistics Digitalization to Improve Port Services
Ministry of Transportation cq. The Directorate General of Sea Transportation will continue to carry out digital optimization in the industrial era 4.0 in line with the digitalization of services in various sectors, including the port and logistics sectors. This aims to improve services to be more transparent, efficient and accountable.
"In line with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, even though we are currently facing limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Transportation continues to optimize the development of a competitive marine transportation sector," said Minister of Transportation Budi, during a National Webinar entitled "Port and Port Strategy. Shipping in the Era of Logistics Ecosystem ", Jakarta, Wednesday (20/1/2021).
Minister of Transportation Budi said, in the National Port Master Plan (RIPN), according to the Minister of Transportation Decree Number KP 432 of 2017, currently there are 636 ports used to serve sea transportation, 57 terminals that are part of ports, and 1321 port location plans.
The national port policy is directed at encouraging private investment, encouraging competition, empowering the role of port administrators, creating a safe, secure and optimal port operation system.
