PT Kereta Api Indonesia ( KAI) is integrating the railway line (KA) to the port. This was marked by the inauguration of a series of 10 carriages with a capacity of 20 TEUs from Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya to Pasoso Station, Jakarta.
President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Didiek Hartantyo said the integration of the railway line and the port was one of the implementations of the MoU between KAI and Pelindo III last November 2020. With the construction of the railway line connectivity to the Tanjung Perak Port, logistics distribution becomes more efficient.
"We, on behalf of KAI, express our deepest gratitude to Pelindo III and TPS for the spirit of this collaboration to create synergy in the form of connectivity between rail transport and ports," he said in a statement, Friday (4/6/2021).
Didiek added that the reactivation of this logistics transportation is a very important stepping stone. This is because the re-activation of the operation of rail logistics transportation from and to the container terminal can provide added value to the logistics industry and national ports as value creators and make them more competitive.
