Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi targets dwelling time,  waiting time for container handling at Patimban Port, to be done in less than 2 days.

According to Budi Karya, this can happen because this port is cooperated with the private sector in the Public Private Partnership scheme, aka PPP.

"Patimban, which is cooperating with the private sector, with the PPP scheme is expected to provide excellent service. For example, we are targeting to manage the dwelling time of less than 2 (days)," Budi Karya said in a public expose at Patimban Port, Thursday (7/1/2021) .

Budi Karya said that reducing costs due to the fast operation of goods at Patimban port could improve national logistics cost efficiency.

"By reducing dwelling time and trucking costs, the efficiency of national logistics costs will be significant," Budi Karya said.

For information, the Patimban Consortium consisting of PT CT Corp Infrastruktur Indonesia, PT Indika Logistic & Support Services, PT U Connectivity Services, and PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya will be the parties that will serve as the operator of the Patimban Port.

Later the consortium is tasked with assisting the Implementing Business Entity and implementing projects with the PPP scheme for 40 years from the date of operation of phase one. The total value of capital costs in managing Patimban Port is around Rp. 18.9 trillion and the total value of operating costs is around Rp. 64.3 trillion.
