Entering Ramadan and Lebaran, Bulog Madiun Ensures Safe Rice Stocks

Perum Logistics Agency or Bulog Subdivre IV Madiun, East Java, ensures that rice stocks are safe and sufficient to meet the needs of the community in facing Ramahan and Lebaran 2021.

"The availability of rice is still more than sufficient. In fact, it can be said that it will be sufficient until the end of this year," said Head of Perum Bulog Sub-Division IV Madiun Ahmad Mustari in Madiun, Friday (9/4/2021).

According to him, the rice stock in the warehouse has reached 12,800 tons. The stock is sufficient until next year. "This amount is not only sufficient for Ramadan. However, it is also sufficient until after Eid and even until the end of the year," he said.

Moreover, his party is in the process of absorbing farmers' unhulled rice during the harvest season for the first planting season earlier this year. At least 3,500 tons of unhulled rice this season have entered the warehouse.

This number is still possible to increase considering the farmers' harvest is still ongoing in a number of places. "There have been 3,500 tons and this is ongoing. In principle, the stock is more than sufficient," he said.

He asked the public not to panic about the availability of foodstuffs in the Madiun area and its surroundings. He made sure that all the stocks needed were fulfilled.

Regarding imported rice, Ahmad also ensured that no imported rice was circulating in his current working area. The rice in Bulog Madiun's warehouse is completely absorbed by local farmers.
